Mark Edelstein


Mark has 24 years of finance experience in the commodities industry.

Mark started his work experience at Amerada Hess as a Senior Credit Analyst for the oil company's trading companies. Mark followed this as Manager - Credit and Risk at Sumitomo Corporation in charge of energy and metals.

Mark then became employed at Gerald Metals (major metals trading company with over $1 billion in revenues) from 1992-1998. Mark started as Head of Credit and was then promoted to Director of Structured Finance. While Director of Structured Finance, Mark arranged in excess of $750 million in structured transactions.

Mark spent over 5 years at Standard Bank's metals and mining corporate finance division in New York, advising resource companies (metals and mining) on mergers and acquisitions, asset sales (mines and processing operations), project finance and other strategic advisory work. When he left he was head of the division in New York.

Mark's educational background includes a B.Comm (Accounting) from the University of Cape Town (South Africa), a BA (Economics) from Rutgers University and an MBA (Finance) from Rutgers University.
